I want to point out that round 1 is nearly halfway completed and as you all know, you have until Sunday evening at around 10:00 PM EST to finish them. It's at that time I will go back and see who has contacted who and fill in the matches that are still at large. That being said, I want to address a few things.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who signed up. When I started the groundwork for the event, I never dreamed of it being this large for the first event. Now, I want to bring up the subject of bugged games since we've all been subject to it. One of the downsides of running an event of this scale during alpha is that we're going to encounter bugs. This is what you guys signed up for. So far, I've had countless PMs telling me how big of a joy it is to be part of this event and then outline some bugs and things that I can do to improve the event. To me, this is just awesome. As Hex TCG is in alpha, so to is the HTP tournament series. Feedback is vital.
For those of you who are a little down and angry that I can't do more to make the tournament run more smoothly, I'm truly sorry. I feel like I have plenty of rules in place to ensure fair games but I'm always open to suggestions. I'm only human, after all. I assume the first two to three challenge series events will be a little rough around the edges but after we get into beta this event will be absolutely huge. I very much look forward to that. Until then, I wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and for fighting through the bugs.
Patch by patch we're getting closer and closer to where we all want to be. Unfortunately, we have to accept that with all that comes with patches in alpha, things break. I can't control that. Please test your decks before you play them, even if they worked before a major patch. Thank you guys and good luck to everyone who hasn't played their match yet!
