Hello guys.
The follow cards are banned for the event taking place tomorrow morning. This list is final and no other changes will be made.
Banned: Xentoth's Inquisitor Evolve
Xentoth's Inquisitor is banned because of the bug with increasing costs not working properly. Cards like Buccaneer, Countermagic, and Time Ripple and to be played at your own risk. The bug makes these cards worse, which isn't an issue as far as game play goes but the bug makes Inquisitor significantly better and that is a problem. We simply cannot institute any kind of gentleman's agreement with a bug this significant. I want this to be the tournament to really show the developers that there's a major problem with the power level of XI, but alas it was not to be.
Evolve, while not really being played much, causes troops that enter play after the effect has resolved to get the +1/+1 bonus. Again, this is not able to be corrected via any kind of game agreement so we're just going to ban it for the event.
Chimes was a card mentioned but it seems to be working properly outside of interactions with Countermagic. Because that it something so specific, I'm not going to ban it at this time.
Bug reports have been filed for the cards and hopefully will be fixed in the patch next week. Please direct any questions and comments to this thread. Thanks and good luck tomorrow players!
- John

That is unfortunate. I admit I was hoping to be a part of proving to CZE that Xentoth's is horribly OP. Oh well at least it will be interesting to play in a tournament minus that card and hopefully it gets a nerf in the meantime anyway

This is very close to the tournament start for such a big ban. The XI isn't bugged its other cards that are bugged.
Has there been something new develop with the XI that I don't understand? why wait till the night before the tourn to ban?

We didn't exactly "wait" until the night before the tournament. The ban only came today because the bug that broke him was introduced in yesterday's patch.
The problem with Inquisitor is that his cost doesn't increase when he's killed then bounced back to your hand, making it only 3 resources to replay him forever. People can try playing around it in friendly matches but there's no way we can enforce that when there's 50 matches going on at the same time. It's a judging nightmare, and worse when in a lot of cases you can't prove it's the same inquisitor as before and not a new one re-entering play.

The OP didn't make it clear something new had come up...

Sorry for not making it clear.
To clarify, the cost increase is there for a short while but when the game syncs, it causes it to revert. This is obviously a major problem. While I absolutely hate to ban cards this close to the event, we did have a patch yesterday that unexpectedly broke a few things.

Gives a good chance to see what other deck types rise to the top.

I haven't seen him not go up in cost. There must be some other card that breaks him.

Note - The +1/+1 diamond gem is doing the same thing as Evolve - every hit will pump all your troops for the rest of the game. Not sure if it is too late to do anything about it but be aware that it is happening.

Thanks Wurtil. Unfortunately, I'm not going to ban that one an hour before the event. Hopefully it won't be an issue in the tournament.

Is survival of the fittest bugged? When used battling a troop with swiftstrike it does not apply the troops swiftstrike. Is this a bug or intended? Seems like a bug to me like in the coding it says to ignore text when using survival of the fittest to prevent crush dmg or other effects from happening.
It is a known bug on forums but has come up a few times.

It's intended. Swiftstrike is a combat phase, and doesn't apply to "battles". Confirmed by CZE, sorry I don't have a citation.
